Eigene Scholle’s roads get €757K facelift after council secures extra funds
The city council has greenlit a major road repair project for the Eigene Scholle residential area. Mayor Steffen Scheller’s plan to resurface Rüsternweg and Eibenweg was approved after securing extra funds. Work will start in April 2026, once the winter months have passed.
The original road maintenance budget stood at just €100,000, far short of what was needed. To cover the costs, the council voted to add €330,000, raising the total to €757,000. BRAWAG GmbH will contribute €327,000, leaving the city to pay €430,000.
The project will resurface two key roads in the Eigene Scholle area at a total cost of €757,000. Asphalt paving is expected to extend the lifespan of the roads and reduce long-term maintenance needs. Work will commence after winter, with completion timelines yet to be confirmed.
