Eight Gaza donkeys find refuge in German animal parks after war rescue
Eight donkeys rescued from the Gaza war zone have arrived in Germany for care. The animals were transported to two German locations: Oppenheim Animal Park in Rhineland-Palatinate and Ballermann Ranch in Blockwinkel, Lower Saxony. They are currently housed in isolated stables with extra blankets, as they adjust to the cooler climate after living in Gaza’s warmer conditions. Staff report that the animals are slowly interacting with others in the park.
The rescued donkeys are now settling into their new surroundings under careful supervision. At the same time, efforts to bring injured children from Gaza into Germany continue to face official resistance. The contrasting outcomes highlight differing responses to humanitarian appeals from the conflict zone.
