Evangelical Church Berlin Strengthens Partnership in Poland - EKBO Strengthens Ties with Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland
The Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia (EKBO) has strengthened its ties with the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland. Bishop Christian Stäblein recently signed an agreement with Bishop Jerzy Samiec in Warsaw to expand their partnership, originally established between the diocese of Breslau and the former Evangelical Church of the Upper Silesian Lusatia.
The expanded partnership now encompasses the entire Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland, including communities in Danzig, Krakow, and Warsaw. Despite the lack of information about the founding date of this partnership, Bishop Stäblein expressed his enthusiasm, highlighting the shared history and challenges faced by both churches. The EKBO is committed to fostering this Christian relationship, which has grown from its initial roots in Breslau and Upper Silesian Lusatia.
The signing of the agreement in Warsaw marks a significant step in the expansion of the partnership between the EKBO and the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland. Both bishops have expressed their support for this collaboration, which is set to benefit the communities in Berlin, Brandenburg, Silesian Upper Lusatia, and across Poland.
