An 81-year-old man was injured in a garage fire in Neupotz, Germersheim district. The fire destroyed the garage and a parked motorhome, also damaging the façade of the adjacent house.

The cause of the fire remains unclear. The elderly man suffered smoke inhalation while attempting to extinguish the flames. Emergency responders rushed him to a hospital for treatment. The garage and a motorhome parked inside were completely destroyed in the blaze. The fire also spread to the exterior of the neighbouring house.

Despite extensive searches, no information has been found about the fire chief overseeing the incident or the investigations into the fire's cause.
