Elderly Man's Wheelchair Net Stolen at Erfurt Hauptbahnhof
An 83-year-old man in a wheelchair had a distressing experience at Erfurt Hauptbahnhof on Thursday evening. His mobility aid's net, containing a rain jacket, was stolen by three individuals in the pedestrian subway around 6:00 PM. The victim reported the incident to Deutsche Bahn security and the Federal Police, but the search for the thieves was unsuccessful.
The Federal Police has issued a warning to passengers to be cautious with their belongings in trains and stations, especially during federal holidays 2025. However, they acknowledge that this may not always be feasible for everyone, especially vulnerable individuals like the elderly man in this case. The head of the Bundespolizeiinspektion Erfurt is currently leading an investigation into the theft. The victim's rain jacket was the only item taken, but the loss has caused significant inconvenience.
The Federal Police urges passengers to remain vigilant with their belongings, while also understanding that it's not always possible. An investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the authorities.
