Eleven Years in Prison for Millions Heist at 'Koe'-Jeweler - Eleven Years in Prison for Millions Heist at 'Koe'-Jeweler
A 55-year-old man has been jailed for eleven years over a daring €3.3 million jewellery heist in Düsseldorf. The robbery took place at a high-end store on the city’s prestigious Königsallee in December 2020. His sentence follows the conviction of another accomplice last year for the same crime.
The heist unfolded on December 14, 2020, when three men targeted a luxury jeweller. They rammed a car into the store’s side entrance before storming inside. One thief sprayed staff with pepper spray and held them at bay while another grabbed over 40 watches and a bracelet worth more than €3.3 million.
The entire haul was recovered a week later in Serbia. Police found the stolen goods with four other suspects, who were under investigation for unrelated offences. The 55-year-old defendant was later arrested in Switzerland after attacking a cash-in-transit company. The court ruled that the robbery was meticulously planned and executed with professional precision. The man’s prior convictions, the high value of the stolen items, and the lasting impact on the store employees led to the harsh sentence. His alleged getaway driver had already received a nine-year prison term in a separate trial. Despite the convictions, the third robber remains at large. Authorities have no leads or identifying details about the missing suspect.
The 55-year-old was found guilty of aggravated robbery as part of an organised gang. His sentence reflects the severity of the crime, the scale of the theft, and the trauma inflicted on the victims. The search for the third perpetrator continues with no progress so far.
