Elīna Pinto Steps Down From European Green Party Board; Mārtinš Mieriņš to Replace Her
Elīna Pinto, a prominent figure in the party, has stepped down from her position on the board and as a plenipotentiary representative in the European Green Party. Pinto, who joined the party in 2023 and has been a key member since, made her decision after careful consideration of human values and the party's development directions.
Pinto's departure opens the door for Mārtinš Mieriņš, a well-known politician, to join the board. Mieriņš, previously a member of the Riga City Council, will take Pinto's place. Pinto herself admitted that her decision was not impulsive, acknowledging the gravity of her choice.
Pinto's political journey includes running as the top candidate for the 'Progressives' in the European Parliament elections, although she was not elected. Despite this, her contributions to the party have been greatly valued, and her resignation is respected by the party leadership.
Elīna Pinto's departure from the party's board and representative role marks a significant change in the party's leadership. Her replacement, Mārtinš Mieriņš, brings a wealth of political experience to the position. The party expresses gratitude for Pinto's service and looks forward to Mieriņš' contributions.
