Elon Musk reveals why he’ll never advise Trump—or any president—again

Elon Musk, the renowned entrepreneur, once supported Donald Trump's presidential campaign and became a close advisor after the 2016 election. Their relationship later deteriorated into a public feud over budget disagreements. Musk now asserts he would never assume such a role again.

Musk never held an official government position under Trump. Instead, he served as an informal advisor, advocating for significant spending cuts and layoffs. He claimed to have averted between $100 billion and $200 billion annually in what he termed 'zombie payments'—wasteful or unnecessary expenses.

The collaboration between Elon Musk and Donald Trump started with close cooperation but concluded in open conflict. Protests, budget disputes, and unsuccessful cost-cutting efforts marked the period. Musk now completely distances himself from the experience.
