Emirates Increases its Modernized Aircraft Services in 8 Additional Cities
**Emirates Unveils Major Fleet Upgrade with Refurbished Aircraft and A350 Debut**
Emirates, the Dubai-based airline, is set to revolutionise its long-haul travel experience with the introduction of refurbished Boeing 777s and Airbus A380s, as well as the debut of the long-range A350 aircraft. This ambitious upgrade forms part of Emirates' ongoing $5 billion retrofit program, aiming to enhance customer comfort and strengthen the airline's competitive edge in premium travel offerings.
The rollout of the refurbished aircraft commences in July 2025, with the first Boeing 777 completing a comprehensive 37-day cabin revamp ahead of schedule. By the end of 2025, Emirates expects to have retrofitted 51 aircraft and introduced 8,512 Premium Economy seats across over 70 cities.
Key destinations to benefit from these upgrades include New York JFK, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, London Heathrow, Sydney, Auckland, Christchurch, Melbourne, Singapore, Mumbai, Bangalore, Sao Paulo, Tokyo Narita, Osaka, Geneva, and Dubai. From October 2025, Emirates will also begin deploying refurbished aircraft to cities like Madrid, Kuala Lumpur, Phuket, and Perth.
In addition to these updates, Emirates is expanding its global network with the addition of the A350 aircraft. The A350 offers a luxurious long-haul experience with a range of over 14,000 kilometers, and will be introduced to cities such as Hong Kong, Nice, and Dublin. The A350 debut will take place in Adelaide on December 1, 2025.
The upgrades include the airline's industry-leading Premium Economy cabins, as well as refreshed First-Class suites, upgraded Business Class seats, and Economy Class enhancements. Emirates is also making significant service updates, such as adding a third daily Boeing 777-300ER flight to Milan and increasing the Rio de Janeiro–Buenos Aires link to daily service. Furthermore, Emirates will add eight new cities to its roster with these refurbished planes. From October 2025, Emirates will begin deploying more retrofitted Boeing 777s and A380s to meet growing travel demand, including upgraded interiors and expanded Premium Economy options.
As part of this ongoing modernisation, Emirates is also expected to begin receiving new Boeing 777X aircraft starting around late 2026 or early 2027. Until then, the retrofit program and Airbus A350 additions are helping to fill capacity gaps.
