EnBW scales up with 5,400 cars and a vast charging network

EnBW has expanded its fleet and charging infrastructure to support a growing workforce. The company now manages around 5,400 vehicles, up from 3,600 in 2015. This growth comes alongside investments in renewable energy and electric mobility solutions.

The increase in vehicles stems from new services, updated procurement policies, and a push for electrification. More decentralised work across renewable energy projects has also driven demand for company transport. Norman Scheck and Vanessa Hindinger oversee mobility management and services, guiding teams through these changes.

EnBW's electrification plan includes workplace charging, home charging with billing integration, and the EnBW Mobility charging card for public stations. The company has installed roughly 1,400 charging points across 135 sites, supporting various electric vehicles. Annual spending on expansion reaches about €2 million.

Close collaboration with fleet management ensures battery-electric and plug-in hybrid cars are deployed where needed. Maintenance is handled through two in-house workshops, streamlined from five since 2009. These facilities focus on inspections and repairs for specialised vehicles.

Public data highlights EnBW's fast-charging network, with over 8,000 points nationwide by early 2026. However, details on employee-only charging stations and their distribution remain undisclosed.

EnBW's fleet now stands at 5,400 vehicles, backed by a growing charging network and maintenance system. The company continues to invest in electric mobility while supporting decentralised operations. These efforts align with broader renewable energy and sustainability goals.
