Enhancing Community Healthcare in Ennore through the Extension of a Medical Centre and Introduction of a Mobile Health Unit on Coromandel

In a significant stride towards community healthcare, Coromandel International Limited has launched the Coro Arogya programme in Ennore, India. This initiative is a testament to the company's sustained commitment to holistic community development.

The Coro Arogya programme builds upon Coromandel International's previous efforts in Ennore, which include initiatives like 'Coro Neer', scholarships for girl children, skill development programmes for women, 'Project Nalam', and 'Annual Medical Camps'.

At the heart of the Coro Arogya programme is a fully equipped medical centre and a Mobile Medical Unit. The medical centre in Ennore now offers expanded clinical care in general medicine, dentistry, physiotherapy, gynaecology, paediatrics, and diagnostics. The Mobile Medical Unit, in collaboration with the Wockhardt Foundation, will travel across 37 identified neighbourhoods in Ennore, offering free consultations and distribution of essential medicines.

The initiative also includes training local women as community health workers to strengthen grassroots health delivery. Additional support will be extended through the provision of boat engines to fishermen, RO water plants, and the construction of a community hall.

Coromandel International has earmarked funds of approximately Rs 8 crore for community development programs in Ennore. The company's investments aim to provide better access to clean water and social infrastructure, supporting education and livelihood by enhancing public infrastructure.
