Ephrata Borough Council has approved four resolutions, enabling local emergency organizations to apply for over $1 million in state grants. These funds come from the Commonwealth Financing Authority's Local Share Account Program, supported by gaming revenue. The Ephrata Ambulance Association plans to request $182,806 for fleet and radio upgrades. Meanwhile, Ephrata Recreation Center will seek a $273,245 matching grant to replace its HVAC and fire protection system. Lincoln Fire Company aims to secure two grants: one for $69,221 to upgrade radios and another for $415,948 to renovate its fire hall. Additionally, Pioneer Fire Company is seeking $450,000 to replace aging equipment and a traffic unit vehicle. These grants, totaling over $1 million, will support critical capital projects for local emergency organizations in Ephrata. The Borough Council's approval allows these organizations to apply for funding that will enhance their services and facilities.
