Essen's Huttrop Road Renovation Begins October 20
Essen's city council has announced the start of renovations on Elsa-Brändström-Straße in Huttrop. The project begins on Monday, October 20, 2025, and is expected to last one week, weather permitting.
Residents have been notified by letter, and emergency access and pedestrian paths will remain open throughout the works. However, motor vehicle and bicycle access, as well as garage entrances, will be closed during this period.
A full road closure is planned between Bergerhauser Straße and Moltkestraße. Motorists and cyclists are advised to follow the detour via Bergerhauser Straße, Ahrfeldstraße, and Ruhrallee. Road surface repairs will commence next week.
The city council urges residents to check www.our website/verkehrshinweise for up-to-date traffic information. The project aims to improve the road surface, with the duration subject to weather conditions.
