Essen's Mayor Honors IME and Subsidiaries as 'Bicycle-Friendly Employer in Gold'
Essen's Mayor Thomas Kufen presented the prestigious 'Bicycle-Friendly Employer in Gold' certificate to Immobilien Management Essen GmbH (IME), its subsidiaries Allbau GmbH and Grundstücksverwaltung Stadt Essen GmbH (GVE) on September 23, 2025. This recognition is part of the General German Bicycle Club's (ADFC) initiative to promote sustainable mobility in the city.
Allbau GmbH has been actively involved in the 'Stadtradeln' campaign, demonstrating its commitment to cycling as a mode of transport. The company's dedication to cycling has been recognised since 2019, when it first received the 'Bicycle-Friendly Employer' award. Since then, Allbau has implemented various facilities to support cycling, including changing rooms, secure bike storage, E-bike charging stations, and a bike leasing program for employees.
Mayor Kufen praised the efforts of IME and its subsidiaries, highlighting their contribution to making Essen a more bike-friendly city.
The 'Bicycle-Friendly Employer in Gold' certificate awarded to IME, Allbau GmbH, and GVE reflects their commitment to sustainable mobility. By providing excellent cycling facilities and encouraging employees to cycle, these companies are helping to reduce carbon emissions and promote a healthier lifestyle in Essen.
