Estonia Begins Removing Cars from Russia Border After 72-Hour Limit
Estonia has started removing cars parked on its border with Russia since October. The operation comes after a 72-hour parking limit was enforced, with car owners required to mark their start time. The Estonian transport department has the authority to evacuate vehicles parked illegally on the border. Cars left beyond the 72-hour limit or without proper indication are automatically removed. Since October, several cars have been evacuated, with owners yet to be identified. Searches for information on the owners and the reduction in the number of cars collected from May to the end of August have yielded no results. Cars that are not claimed by their owners within a few months will be sold. Estonia continues to enforce its 72-hour parking limit on the border with Russia. Cars left beyond this limit or without proper indication are subject to evacuation. Owners have a few months to claim their vehicles before they are sold.
