Estonia & Israel to Strengthen Ties with New Embassy in Tallinn
Estonia and Israel are set to strengthen their strategic partnership with the opening of a new Israeli embassy in Tallinn, scheduled for around November 2025. The exact date is yet to be confirmed, but the move is expected to deepen cooperation between the two nations. Until now, Israel's ambassador to Estonia, Amit Gil-Beiz, was based in Helsinki, Finland. The decision to open an embassy in Tallinn reflects the growing relationship between the two countries. This move follows Estonia's establishment of its own embassy in Israel, located in Tel Aviv, back in 2009. The partnership between Estonia and Israel has been bolstered by shared concerns over regional security, Russian aggression, and threats from authoritarian regimes. Israel was one of the first countries to support Estonia in the early 1990s, supplying arms to the newly independent nation. Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar announced plans to open the embassy in Tallinn in July 2025, with the Israeli government giving its approval for the move. The opening of the Israeli embassy in Tallinn, expected around November 2025, will further solidify the strategic partnership between Estonia and Israel. This step is anticipated to enhance cooperation in various fields and strengthen the bond between the two nations.
