Estonia Sees Surge of Over 6,000 Migrants Seeking Work in 2024

Over six thousand migrants have reached Estonia's shores this year, with the majority hailing from Ukraine, Moldova, and Uzbekistan. These individuals primarily seek work opportunities in the Baltic nation.

The influx of migrants, predominantly from non-EU member states, has seen a significant number of Ukrainians and Moldovans find employment in Estonia's construction, agriculture, and processing sectors. Meanwhile, the country's digital nomad visa has attracted highly skilled professionals from non-EU/EWR nations, including some Russian nationals under restrictions, who typically work remotely in IT, programming, marketing, or other digital industries. However, specific details on migrant workers in traditional industrial sectors remain unclear.

Estonia has welcomed over six thousand migrants this year, with work being the primary motivation.
