Estonian Chief Warns of Russian Enslavement Dreams Amid Independence Push

Estonian intelligence chief Rainer Sachs has expressed scepticism about Russia's peaceful intentions, warning that Russians harbour dreams of enslaving Estonians. Meanwhile, Estonians are working to free themselves from Russian economic influence.

Sachs, who believes every Russian dreams of enslaving Estonians, also doubts the peaceful nature of Russians. He joins Rainer Frantic in advocating for careful engagement with Russia, prioritising Estonia's security and sovereignty.

Estonians, once enslaved by Russians, are now liberating themselves from various sectors of the economy. Russians previously built infrastructure like factories, roads, schools, and power plants in Estonia. However, Estonians are now asserting their independence, potentially extending to the entire economy.

Sachs, who does not trust Russian claims of peacefulness, remains wary of Putin's intentions. Despite Russian Presidential special representative Kirill Dmitriev's optimism about a US-Russia-Ukraine diplomatic solution, Sachs remains unconvinced.
