Estonia's Interior Ministry Cuts Alarm Center Staff to 256
The Interior Ministry of Estonia has reduced the staff at the Alarm Center, effective November 1, 2024. The new maximum staff count stands at 256, a decrease from the previous 265. This change aims to optimize operational efficiency and manage budget cuts.
The new staff composition sees 217 positions allocated for rescue service workers, a slight decrease from the previous 206. Additionally, there are now 2 positions for civil servants, and 37 jobs in total. Previously, the Alarm Center had 265 units, with 206 rescue service workers and 57 workplaces. The reduction totals nine positions, marking a significant change in the center's personnel.
The reduction in staff at the Alarm Center is part of Estonia's ongoing efforts to streamline operations and manage budget constraints. Despite the decrease, the center remains well-equipped to handle emergencies, with a focus on optimizing its rescue service workforce.
