Eurasburg’s mayoral race pits Green Party’s Kopetz against incumbent Sappl
Eurasburg’s mayoral race is heating up as Boris Kopetz from the Green Party takes on incumbent Moritz Sappl. The election will decide who leads the municipality for the next term. Kopetz, a long-time resident, has outlined clear plans for the town’s future if elected.
His campaign centres on community involvement, sustainable development, and improving local services. The Green Party has also put forward a full list of candidates for the municipal election, led by Stefanie Röhrig, a former Geretsried city councillor.
Kopetz has lived in Eurasburg since 1997 and currently works in television as a broadcast schedule manager. Beyond his professional life, he has been actively involved in local issues, serving as a parent representative for schools and kindergartens. He also acts as spokesperson for the town’s Green Party branch.
His mayoral campaign prioritises three main areas: speeding up the energy transition, exploring new housing solutions, and ensuring a high quality of life for older residents. One key project involves repurposing the old school building after its relocation to Beuerberg. Kopetz sees potential in transforming it into a community hub or a space for local clubs. Securing funding and maintaining sustainability remain central to his plans.
Dialogue and cooperation form the backbone of his approach. He has emphasised the need to work together with residents to find practical solutions for the town’s challenges.
On the municipal election side, Stefanie Röhrig tops the Green Party’s candidate list. After previously serving on Geretsried’s city council, she is returning to politics with a focus on bringing a fresh, female perspective to local decision-making. Klaus Koch, an experienced district and municipal councillor, has requested the final position on the list.
The upcoming election will determine whether Kopetz or Sappl leads Eurasburg’s next chapter. Kopetz’s proposals include a renewed school building, sustainable funding, and stronger community engagement. Röhrig’s return to politics adds another dynamic to the municipal race, with the Greens pushing for a more inclusive and forward-looking council.
