Eurojet firm inks deal for delivering 59 aircraft engines to Spain's Air Force Eurofighter fleet

Getafe, Madrid - It's a new chapter for the Spanish Air Force as EUROJET Turbo GmbH, the mastermind behind the EJ200 engine, has signed a deal with the NATO Eurofighter & Tornado Management Agency (NETMA) to deliver 59 new EJ200 engines for their Eurofighter Typhoon fleet.
This contract, inked at the Getafe Air Force Base, binds Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Simon Ellard (ret.), Director General of NETMA, with Ralf Breiling, the CEO of EUROJET. This agreement covers engines for the Typhoon in Spain's second phase of the Halcón acquisition project.
The engine assembly will be carried out by the EUROJET consortium's all-star lineup of partner companies: Rolls-Royce, MTU Aero Engines, ITP Aero, and Avio Aero. ITP Aero, based in Ajalvir, will lead the final assembly of these engines. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in 2029.
In the wake of this deal, Breiling shared, "The ongoing trust that Spain and core nations show towards the EJ200 engine and the Eurofighter platform makes us optimistic.
