President of the Church of Anhalt Resigns - Evangelical Church of Anhalt President Steps Down Amid Career Shift
Andreas Köhn has stepped down as President of the Evangelical Church of Anhalt. His resignation comes after a shift in his professional career left him with less time for the voluntary role. The church must now choose a replacement during its upcoming spring session.
Köhn cited his new career commitments as the reason for leaving the presidency. Though no longer leading the church, he will remain an elected representative for the Dessau district on the synod.
The spring synod, scheduled for April, will elect a new president from its members. Until then, Jan Brademann, an alternate member, will take over as acting leader for the session.
The Evangelical Church of Anhalt will hold its presidential election in the coming months. Köhn's departure means the synod must select a successor to guide the church's administration. His replacement will be chosen during the spring meeting.
