EVS & NDR Partner to Revolutionize News Production with AI-Driven Workflows
EVS, a leading live video production technology specialist, has partnered with Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) to modernise its news production workflows. The collaboration, spearheaded by EVS CEO Serge Van Herck, aims to empower NDR's newsroom teams with faster content turnaround and seamless collaboration. Marcus Bornheim, Chief Editor ARD-aktuell, expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting the focus on storytelling while ensuring reliable technology delivery.
The resulting solution, MediaCeption, will equip NDR with complete editing capabilities and AI-driven workflows to modernise its newsroom operations. The VIA Media Asset Management Platform (VIA MAP) will manage and edit live and near-live news content, ensuring efficient handling of the vast amounts of data generated daily.
EVS will provide nearline storage based on XStore, enhancing secure disaster recovery workflows with IPDirector, LSM-VIA, and XNet-VIA. This comprehensive suite of tools will enable NDR to streamline news production for tagesschau, Germany's most-watched news programme. While details about the installation of the VIA MAP at tagesschau remain unclear, the planned launch in 2026 signals an exciting future for the programme's production workflows.
EVS' MediaCeption solution promises to revolutionise NDR's news production, enabling faster content turnaround and seamless collaboration. With AI-driven workflows and advanced editing capabilities, NDR's newsroom teams can focus on delivering compelling stories to Germany's viewers. The partnership between EVS and NDR marks a significant step towards modernising news production in the digital age.
