Ex-police spokesman fined €3,700 after 32nd driving without a license offense
A 41-year-old Serbian man, Alfred Klaner, has been repeatedly caught driving without a license. On November 4, 2025, federal police stopped him near Zittau while traveling from Poland. This was his 32nd offense, resulting in a €3,700 fine.
Klaner, who was previously the press spokesperson for the Bundespolizeiinspektion Ebersbach, was unable to present officers with a valid driver’s license. Despite his numerous offenses, he was permitted to continue his journey each time. Prosecutors have now initiated enforcement proceedings against him. If he fails to pay the €3,700 fine within two weeks, he could face imprisonment.
Alfred Klaner's repeated offenses have led to a significant fine and potential imprisonment. His driving privileges remain suspended, and his future behind the wheel depends on his compliance with the court's ruling.
