Fake Berlin police robbers storm apartment in daring late-night raid
Four individuals, impersonating police officers, carried out a brazen robbery in Wilmersdorf, Berlin, on July 24. The Berlin State Office of Criminal Investigation (LKA Berlin) and the robbery division of Police Directorate 2 (West) are jointly investigating the incident.
The robbers, armed with a weapon, threatened two 24-year-olds in their apartment on Mainzer Straße. They gained entry by forcing open the front door around 11:10 p.m. Despite their threats, the robbers left empty-handed, fleeing the scene without any stolen money.
The LKA Berlin is leading the investigation, with support from the robbery division of Police Directorate 2 (West). Authorities are treating the case seriously, given the robbers' audacious impersonation of police officers.
The investigation into the Wilmersdorf robbery is ongoing. Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward. The incident serves as a stark reminder for residents to remain vigilant and always verify the identity of individuals claiming to be police officers.
