Family Thanks Supporters as LA Man Charged in Scottish Woman's Murder
The family of June Bunyan, a 37-year-old Scottish woman, has expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support following her tragic death in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Police Department has since charged Jonathan Renteria with her murder.
Bunyan, known for her vibrant personality and compassionate heart, had traveled to Los Angeles with aspirations of sitting the bar exam and becoming a defense lawyer. Tragedy struck when she was found dead following an alleged assault. Her body has since been repatriated to the UK ahead of her funeral on the Isle of Arran.
Jonathan Renteria, the man arrested and charged with Bunyan's murder, mutilation, and sexual contact with human remains, is currently being held at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles. Little is known about Renteria at this time. A fundraising campaign has raised over £18,800 to help cover repatriation and funeral costs.
June Bunyan's funeral will take place on October 31 at Brodick Parish Church on Arran. The family thanks everyone for their support and donations during this difficult time.
