Farooq Abdullah reaffirmed as National Conference chief amid key political talks

The National Conference’s Working Committee concluded a two-day meeting on Friday, reaffirming Farooq Abdullah as party chief. The gathering also addressed key issues, including statehood for Jammu and Kashmir and recent terror attacks. Abdullah announced plans to attend a cabinet meeting next week to discuss reservation policies.

During the meeting, the Committee strongly backed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s leadership. They also condemned the recent terror attacks in Delhi and Nowgam, demanding high-level investigations into both incidents.

The National Conference’s meeting reinforced its stance on statehood, security, and governance. Farooq Abdullah’s return to the cabinet meeting next week will focus on reservation reforms. The party also pledged to address public concerns, from electricity subsidies to the protection of Kashmiris nationwide.
