Festo Acquires R. Neddermann to Boost Pneumatic Valve Seal Production
Festo has taken over rubber goods manufacturer R. Neddermann GmbH, with the deal officially completed on 1 January 2026. The acquisition expands Festo's in-house production skills, particularly in valve seals for pneumatic systems. Company leaders have highlighted the move as a key step in securing specialised expertise.
R. Neddermann GmbH has long been recognised for its sealing and rubber technologies, which are vital for pneumatic applications. Festo's purchase of the firm will enhance its ability to produce high-quality valve seals, a core part of its product range. The business will now trade under the name Gummiwarenfabrik R. Neddermann GmbH – a Festo Group Company.
Sebastian Schill, who currently heads Festo's Technology Plant in Scharnhausen, will take over leadership of the acquired company. Meanwhile, Matthias Knieß, the previous managing director and owner of R. Neddermann, has announced his retirement.
Thomas Böck, CEO of Festo, explained that the deal reinforces the company's manufacturing knowledge. It also ensures the retention of valuable technical skills within the group.
The takeover strengthens Festo's position in pneumatic technology. With R. Neddermann's expertise now integrated, the company aims to improve production efficiency and product quality. The changes take effect immediately under the new company name.
