Finland’s Ambassador Strengthens Chemnitz-Tampere Ties with Golden Book Ceremony

The Ambassador of Finland, H.E. Kai Jürgen Mikael Sauer, will visit Chemnitz on December 8, 2025, to sign the city’s Golden Book. The ceremony marks a step in deepening ties between Chemnitz and its Finnish twin city, Tampere. His delegation will also explore cultural and economic collaborations during the trip.

The signing event will begin at 10:30 AM in the Green Salon of Chemnitz Town Hall, located at Markt 1. Ambassador Sauer will be joined by his wife, Dr. Erika Sauer, and Mikko Fritze, Director of the Finland Institute in Germany. Fritze will act as an official witness during the signing.

The ambassador’s visit aims to solidify connections with Tampere and promote joint projects ahead of Oulu’s year as European Capital of Culture. The signing of the Golden Book and subsequent meetings will provide a platform for future cooperation in culture, industry, and diplomacy.
