Foodtastic Expands Portfolio with Central Social Hall Acquisition
Foodtastic, a major Canadian restaurant operator, has acquired Central Social Hall, an upscale casual dining and bar chain from Edmonton. The deal adds another homegrown brand to the company's growing portfolio of food and beverage businesses.
Founded in 2012 by local entrepreneurs Jerry Rota and Jesse Kupina, Central Social Hall currently operates two locations in Edmonton and one in St. Albert.
The acquisition reflects Foodtastic's strategy to expand its collection of Canadian brands. The company already manages chains like Second Cup, Milestones, Freshii, and Quesada. Central Social Hall will now join this list as part of its growth plans.
Despite the takeover, one of the chain's original locations—the central Edmonton branch—has closed. Foodtastic has not yet announced whether this site will reopen under new management. Looking ahead, the company intends to grow Central Social Hall beyond Alberta. Expansion into other Canadian provinces is expected, though specific locations and timelines remain undisclosed.
Central Social Hall will continue operating under Foodtastic's ownership, with plans to increase its presence across Canada. The brand's existing sites in Edmonton and St. Albert remain open, while the company explores further growth opportunities.
