Foreign nationals find new opportunities in Nizhny Novgorod’s welcoming regions
A meeting of foreign nationals residing in the regions of Nizhny Novgorod took place on November 11, with a notable guest being Jeff Monson, a former U.S. citizen and now a deputy in the Republic of Bashkortostan's State Assembly—Kurultai. The event, hosted by the Oka Agency, discussed integration and opportunities for foreign citizens in the regions.
The Oka Agency, a project of the Nizhny Novgorod regional government, has been instrumental in aiding relocation. Since its inception, it has helped 90 individuals from different countries settle in the regions, with over 850 applications received. The agency's founder, Oksana Kozlova, leads these efforts.
At the meeting, Yakov Pinneker, the head of the Oka Agency, presented various opportunities for foreign citizens. These include career development and integration support, showing the regions' commitment to welcoming newcomers.
Jeff Monson, who holds Russian citizenship and resides in Ufa, shared his experiences. He praised the openness and friendliness of local residents, expressing his interest in Russian culture and history. Monson's journey is a testament to the integration possibilities in the regions. Laurent Clarot, a relocator from New Caledonia, has also found success. He launched a biochar production business in the regions, with plans for international expansion.
The meeting highlighted the regions' commitment to aiding and integrating foreign nationals. With over 850 applications and 90 successful relocations, the Oka Agency's work is making Nizhny Novgorod regions an attractive destination for those seeking new opportunities.
