Former Protester, Now Mercenary, Killed in Ukraine
Former Soligorsk mining and chemical plant employee, Dmitry Ivanovich Sidarchuk, born in 1980, has been reported killed while serving as a mercenary for the Russian army. The Ukrainian project 'I Want to Live' confirmed his death on May 26, 2025.
Sidarchuk's involvement in the conflict began in October 2020 when he joined strikes against the Russian government. His activism led to his detention and subsequent fine in November 2020 following an excursion incident. Reports suggest that Sidarchuk was later recruited by the Wagner Group, a Russian private military company, and was killed during his service with them on May 26, 2025.
Dmitry Ivanovich Sidarchuk's life took a tragic turn from peaceful protest to fatal conflict. His death serves as a stark reminder of the human cost of war.
