Formula 1 Star Liam Lawson Auctions Modified Subaru Forester for Youth Mental Health

Formula 1 driver Liam Lawson is auctioning his modified 2000 Subaru Forester to support youth mental health. The car, transformed into a high-performance showpiece, will raise funds and awareness for I AM HOPE, a New Zealand-based charity. The auction closes on November 7, 2025, during the charity's annual Gumboot Friday fundraiser, coinciding with Lawson's Brazilian Grand Prix race weekend.

Lawson's Subaru Forester has been extensively modified with over $25,000 invested. It boasts adjustable coilovers, a turbo-back exhaust, semi-slick tires, and a Kartboy short-shifter for enhanced handling and performance. The engine, rebuilt to produce 300 horsepower, features genuine parts and a fully programmable ECU. The exterior is wrapped in Satin Dark Grey, and the interior bears Lawson's personal signature and Formula 1 race number.

The auction is live on Trade Me, with all proceeds going to I AM HOPE. Lawson aims to raise awareness about mental health struggles among young people in New Zealand through this project.
