Four bronze sculptures vanish from Grevenbroich’s City Park Island
Four bronze sculptures have been stolen from Grevenbroich’s City Park Island. The artworks, known as the Poplar Men, disappeared between December 28, 2024, and January 1, 2025. The police are now asking the public for help in finding those responsible.
The missing pieces are titled Der Fischer, Der Angler, Die Tänzerin and Der Jüngling. They were installed along the banks of the Erft River before being taken. Criminal Investigation Unit 24 has taken charge of the case and is examining all leads.
Authorities believe suspicious activity may have been noticed before the theft. Anyone with information is urged to come forward. Witnesses can contact the police on 02131 3000 with details that might assist the investigation.
The stolen sculptures remain missing as the inquiry continues. The police have not yet released further details about potential suspects. The public’s cooperation could be vital in recovering the artworks.
