Police Searching for 4-Year-Old in Forest Near Apolda - Four-Year-Old Boy Found Safe After Large-Scale Forest Search
A four-year-old boy went missing in a forest near the border of Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia on Sunday. The child had run away from his father while they were near Apolda in the Weimarer Land district, prompting an urgent search operation.
The father immediately called police after losing sight of his son. Authorities responded by launching a large-scale emergency operation to locate the missing child.
A helicopter from Erfurt was deployed to assist in the search. Numerous emergency crews, including units from neighbouring Saxony-Anhalt, joined the effort. After an extensive search, the boy was found safe. He was later reunited with his father, bringing the operation to a close.
The search involved multiple agencies and resources, including air support. The boy's safe return ended the emergency response, though officials did not disclose the exact number of personnel involved.
