Frankfurt Book Fair 2022 Sets New Record With 238,000 Visitors
The 77th Frankfurt Book Fair concluded with a notable increase in visitors, attracting 118,000 trade visitors and 120,000 private visitors. This year's event saw a significant boost in attendance, with 3,000 more trade visitors and 5,000 more private visitors compared to last year.
The fair was a sold-out success on Saturday, with visitors eager to explore the offerings of 4,350 exhibitors, 50 more than the previous year. The event was marked by lively discussions on central questions of our time, such as the responsible use of artificial intelligence and the role of politics in shaping society. Juergen Boos, the long-standing director of the Frankfurt Book Fair since 2005, reflected on the fair's progressive trajectory, describing it as 'five successful and intense days'. Despite the visitor count not yet reaching the pre-COVID high of nearly 300,000 in 2019, the total visitor count this year stood at 238,000, indicating a strong recovery for the industry.
The 77th Frankfurt Book Fair ended on a positive note, with an increase in visitors and exhibitors. The fair's focus on relevant societal discussions and its growth trajectory under the leadership of Juergen Boos bode well for its future editions.
