More Money for Staff in Frankfurt's Kindergartens - Frankfurt boosts wages for early childhood educators in 2026
Frankfurt has announced pay rises for early childhood education workers starting in January 2026. The move aims to support staff facing high living costs in the city. A total of €25 million per year will fund the new allowances.
The city’s executive council has approved extra monthly payments for educators and support staff. Qualified pedagogical employees will receive an additional €200 each month. Domestic and auxiliary workers will get €100 extra before tax.
The new pay supplements will cost Frankfurt €25 million annually from 2026. Staff in early childhood education will see higher wages, though exact net gains remain unconfirmed. The scheme’s long-term success depends on the upcoming city assembly vote.
