Free Celle lecture tackles extremist content on social media

A free public lecture on extremist content and social media will be held in Celle on Monday, March 16, 2026. Organised by the local network Strengthening Democracy in Celle District, the event targets parents, teachers, and anyone concerned about online radicalisation.

The talk begins at 5:30 PM in the Old Drill Hall (Alte Exerzierhalle). Speaker Sebastian Zollner, founder of the Hasskompass project, will explain how extremist material spreads through algorithms and platforms. His work focuses on AI-driven counter-speech and the analysis of digital radicalisation patterns.

Zollner has presented at academic conferences and prevention events across Lower Saxony. The lecture will also cover practical ways to shield young people from harmful online influences. Attendees are encouraged to register in advance. While the session is aimed at educators and families, organisers welcome all interested members of the public.
