Freedom Square Officially Becomes Georgia’s Newest Political Party After Months of Struggle
Freedom Square, originally a political group, has now become an official party. The organization completed its registration this week after months of bureaucratic hurdles. Its co-founder, Levan Tsutskiridze, confirmed the news on Wednesday.
The group first formed in July 2024 with no prior ties to existing parties. By October of that year, its members joined the Strong Georgia coalition’s electoral lists. Their time within the coalition was short-lived.
In March 2025, Freedom Square broke away from Strong Georgia to pursue independent status. The registration process that followed proved difficult, with officials citing administrative delays. Despite these challenges, the party secured its official recognition this week.
Freedom Square now operates as a standalone political entity. Its registration marks the end of a months-long effort to meet legal requirements. The party’s next steps remain to be seen.
