Freiburg’s Crafts Chamber Uses Advent Calendar to Demand Political Action
The Freiburg Chamber of Skilled Crafts has launched an unusual Advent calendar to push political demands ahead of the 2026 state elections. Each of the 24 doors reveals a key issue affecting local businesses, with a total of 26 calls for action to support craftsmanship in Baden-Württemberg.
The idea came from Christof Burger, president of the Freiburg Chamber. He wanted to bring fresh energy to political discussions during Advent while highlighting the core needs of skilled trades. The campaign targets all election candidates in the chamber’s district, ensuring they hear the concerns of southern Baden’s 16,000 craft businesses.
The Advent calendar will land in the hands of every candidate in the chamber’s district. It serves as a direct reminder of the 26 demands shaping the future of Baden-Württemberg’s craft sector. The campaign aims to turn political promises into concrete measures for businesses across the region.
