Freiburg’s Employment Agency lights up orange to fight violence against women
Freiburg’s Federal Employment Agency has joined the global 'Orange the World' campaign to combat violence against women. The initiative, backed by UN Women, will see the agency’s building on Lehener Straße lit in orange from November 25 to December 10. The campaign coincides with key international dates, including the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Human Rights Day.
The campaign kicks off on November 25, marking the start of 16 days of activism. During this period, the agency’s building will glow orange each evening, symbolising solidarity with survivors. An orange banner will also be displayed outside, reinforcing the message against gender-based violence.
The orange-lit building and accompanying events aim to highlight the ongoing issue of violence against women. By participating in 'Orange the World', Freiburg’s Employment Agency and job centres are joining a worldwide movement. The campaign seeks to educate, raise awareness, and show support for those affected by gender-based violence.
