From intern to partner: The meteoric rise of Belarus’s elite law prodigy

Filip Pyatkevich, son of Belarus’s deputy prime minister, has indeed become a partner at the St. Petersburg law firm Buzko & Krasnov. His rise from intern to partner marks a notable shift in both his career and personal demeanour.

Pyatkevich’s interest in law began after watching the film Force Majeure and later learning onboarding procedures as an intern. Over time, he moved from being an extrovert to adopting a more introverted approach in his professional life.

His first official meeting at the firm left a strong impression—some colleagues found him intimidating, while others were quick to engage. Despite the demands of his role, he regularly travels between St. Petersburg and Minsk, spending over eight hours in transit each trip. The long flights leave him with little time for reflection. Now a partner, Pyatkevich views this achievement as a major milestone. He expects further successes for both himself and his team in the future.

Pyatkevich’s promotion to partner reflects his dedication and transformation within the firm. His journey from intern to leadership highlights a career built on persistence and adaptability. The firm now looks ahead to the contributions he will make in his new role.
