‘Frontline Triangles’ Honors War Veterans Through Personal Letters in Nizhny Novgorod

A local history project in Nizhny Novgorod has won this year’s ‘Open Nizhny’ social competition. The ‘Frontline Triangles’ initiative took first place in the Prioksky District. Its goal was to honour veterans of the Great Patriotic War through personal stories and letters from the front.

The project centred on a travelling exhibition of wartime letters and documents. Organisers collected materials from veterans and their families to create a display that toured schools and public venues. Over 250 people visited the exhibition during its run.

The ‘Frontline Triangles’ project successfully linked historical memory with community involvement. Its exhibition and contest reached hundreds of residents, while the closing event celebrated both veterans and young participants. The initiative now stands as a recognised effort in preserving local wartime heritage.
