Fuerth District Expands Refugee Housing as Hotel Lease Ends
The District of Fuerth is expanding its refugee housing options as demand grows. Two apartments in Wilhermsdorf’s Ritterhaus will open in mid-March, while renovations continue to create additional space. The move comes as the current lease at Zirndorf’s Hotel Knorz nears its end, requiring residents to relocate by 15 March 2024.
The Ritterhaus in Wilhermsdorf, currently under renovation, will soon house refugees. Two apartments—a one-bedroom and a two-bedroom—have already been rented by the state district office. These can accommodate up to six people, with costs covered by the Free State of Bavaria.
The new housing in Ritterhaus will provide stable accommodation for up to 14 people. With renovations nearing completion and support services ready, the district is preparing for the transition. Meanwhile, the closure of Hotel Knorz in Zirndorf will require further relocations by mid-March.
