Fulda Regional Court names Sebastian Leitschuh as new Presiding Judge in 2026
Judge Sebastian Leitschuh has been appointed Presiding Judge at the Fulda Regional Court, starting April 1, 2026. A local to the Fulda region, he brings over a decade of legal experience to his new role. His career includes specialisation in banking law and service across multiple judicial divisions. Born and raised in Fulda, Leitschuh completed his Abitur at Winfried School in 2000. He later studied law at the University of Würzburg, passing his First State Examination in 2007. By 2012, he had qualified as a certified specialist in banking and capital markets law.
Leitschuh entered the Hessian judiciary in January 2015. In April 2018, he became a tenured judge at the Fulda Regional Court. From January to October 2024, he was seconded to the Frankfurt am Main Higher Regional Court. On March 16, 2026, Dr. Patrick Liesching, President of the Fulda Regional Court, formally presented Leitschuh with his appointment certificate. As Presiding Judge, he will oversee the 3rd Criminal Division, the 5th Civil Division, and the Criminal Enforcement Chamber.
Leitschuh's appointment takes effect on April 1, 2026. His responsibilities will span criminal, civil, and enforcement chambers. The role marks a significant step in his judicial career within the Hessian court system.
