Funding of €5 million acquired by QuadSAT to progress Radio Frequency Geolocation technology development
QuadSAT, a Denmark-based aerospace and defense startup, has raised €5 million in a Series A extension round, bolstering its position as a critical technology provider in drone-based radio frequency (RF) testing and geolocation within the defense sector.
The funding round, led by Join Capital and North Ventures, with participation from Seraphim Space Capital and Denmark's Export and Investment Fund (EIFO), aims to accelerate QuadSAT's expansion into defense applications. The primary mission of QuadSAT is to ensure spectrum assurance for military, space, and satellite operators.
Originally founded in 2017, QuadSAT established itself by revolutionizing satellite antenna testing for major global satellite operators like SES and OneWeb. However, the company has since broadened its focus to defense clients, with its platform-agnostic technology becoming increasingly relevant for military operations.
One of QuadSAT's standout offerings is its RF geolocation toolset, which is increasingly used to identify, locate, and analyze signals in contested environments. This technology is particularly crucial for modern battlefield intelligence and electronic warfare, as it enables precise detection and geolocation of RF signals, interference, and jamming across various domains.
The market context further supports QuadSAT's position. European governments, including those in Nordic countries such as Denmark, are significantly increasing defense budgets and investments in drone technologies. This trend is reflected in the global defense drone market, currently valued at over $24 billion and expected to double by 2032.
QuadSAT's systems are positioned as essential tools for military, intelligence, and commercial customers in the evolving electronic warfare landscape. The company's drones carry RF equipment capable of signal transmission, reception, and interference simulation, making them ideal for dynamic, cost-effective, and accurate RF testing capabilities.
In addition to enhancing RF geolocation capabilities for military-grade applications, the funding will also be used for expansion of NATO-focused R&D programs and scaling of manufacturing to meet increased demand. QuadSAT's innovative approach to RF geolocation and testing makes it a critical player in the future of aerospace defense.
With its growing footprint in the defense sector and strategic investments, QuadSAT is poised to play a significant role in modernizing the way electronic warfare and satellite systems are tested. The company's alignment with NATO, expanding customer base, and advanced drone-based testing approach position it as a rising leader in defense-oriented spectrum management.
