Füssen bypassed as district authority fast-tracks new Bad Faulenbach hotel
A new hotel in Bad Faulenbach has been approved without input from Füssen’s local politicians. The Ostallgäu district authority, acting in an authoritative manner, issued the planning permission directly. Mayor Maximilian Eichstetter later announced the decision in a building committee meeting.
The approval process took an unusual turn when the district’s building authority, demonstrating its authority, granted permission before Füssen’s officials could review the plans. Normally, such decisions involve local representatives, but this time, the responsible officer moved ahead independently, making a decision without local consultation.
The hotel project in Bad Faulenbach can now proceed as planned. The district authority’s decision stands, meaning construction will go forward without further local debate. Füssen’s politicians were not given a chance to weigh in before the authoritative decision was made.
