Future Combo Bath is Named NatuRA: City Council Follows Public Vote and Decides Name
Rastatt’s future combined indoor and outdoor pool now has an official name. After a public vote, the town council approved NatuRA as the winning choice. The decision follows months of community input and a naming contest held in late 2024.
The naming process began with 384 unique suggestions from residents. The council narrowed these down to six finalists: Aquaria, Bad am Schwalbenrain, Badner Bad, Das Bad, Kombibad Rastatt, and NatuRA. When voting closed, NatuRA took a clear lead with 259 votes, well ahead of Aquaria (113 votes) and Kombibad Rastatt (61 votes).
The chosen name pays tribute to the site’s history. *NatuRA* references the former outdoor pool that once occupied the same location. Mayor Monika Müller supported the decision, noting that the name blends nature and urban living. Construction is progressing as planned. The indoor pool is expected to open by late 2027, with the outdoor facilities ready by spring 2028.
The new NatuRA pool will serve as a central leisure spot for Rastatt. Its name reflects both the town’s past and its vision for a modern, nature-inspired space. Work continues to meet the scheduled opening dates for both indoor and outdoor areas.
