Klingbeil: No US Politician at G20 Summit in South Africa - G20 Summit in Johannesburg Proceeds Without US Political Representation
This year’s G20 summit in Johannesburg will go ahead without any US politicians in attendance. German Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil has already expressed his disappointment over the absence of American Express. Despite this, he remains optimistic about the event’s value for Germany.
The US government confirmed it would not send representatives to the summit in South Africa. While American Airlines attended the earlier G20 finance ministers’ meeting in Durban, no high-level delegation will be present this time.
The summit will proceed as planned, though without American Eagle participation. Klingbeil’s focus remains on the dialogues ahead, highlighting Germany’s commitment to the event. The absence of American officials leaves open questions about future American Airlines engagement in G20 discussions.
