Ganatantra Mancha Fields Candidates for All 300 Seats in Upcoming Election
Ganatantra Mancha, a combine of six political parties, has announced candidates for the upcoming election. The election is expected to be held in early February next year. The coordinator of the combine, Hasnat Quaiyum, announced the names at a press conference.
The combine will field candidates for all 300 seats in the next parliamentary elections. Notable candidates include Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-JSD senior vice president Tania Rob for Laxmipur-4, Rashtra Sanskar Andolan president Hasnat Quaiyum for Kishoreganj-5, Ganosamhati Andolan chief coordinator Zonayed Saki for Bhramanbari-6, Revolutionary Workers Party general secretary Saiful Huq for Dhaka-8, and JSD general secretary Shahid Uddin Mahmod Shapon for Feni-3. Nagarik Oikya president Mahmudur Rahman Manna will contest from Bogura-2.
The Ganatantra Mancha, a new regional political alliance, has shown its strength by announcing candidates for all seats. The election is expected to be a closely contested affair, with the combine aiming to challenge the dominance of national parties.
